KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Thomas McGee Group is pleased to announce some of its clients will now have access to two private health and wellness centers in the Kansas City area. The Pareto Health & Wellness Centers (“PH&WCs”) will open Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018.
Thomas McGee Group, a Kansas City-based risk management company, focuses on self-insured health benefits, assisting employers to reduce the costs and volatility associated with offering quality benefits to their employees. Dozens of area employers, including Spring Venture Group, EML Payments and McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips PA participate in benefit captive programs managed by Pareto Captive. The programs are designed for companies with 50-500 employees that pool resources in order to mitigate risk and reduce costs. Thomas McGee is proud to be one of a limited number of consultants throughout the country who work with Pareto. The PH&WCs are available only to employers that participate in a Pareto Captive program.
“This is similar to what you might find on-site at a large employer,” said Libby Henry, director of employee benefits, Thomas McGee Group. “It’s really exciting that we are able to bring such a sophisticated cost-management tool to our clients that are normally considered too small for this. It is another example of our company’s thought-leading focus on our clients.”
“We believe that better primary care is the lynchpin to reducing healthcare costs. By investing more in primary care, we can spend less money on healthcare. These centers are also a great benefit to employees which is important given the degree of competition for attracting and retaining talent. The centers can integrate with any existing network and benefit plan,” said Andrew Cavenagh, managing director and founder, Pareto Captive Services.
The health and wellness centers are located in the River Market area of Kansas City, Mo., and in Leawood, Kan. As the membership of these centers grows and reaches capacity, other locations will be added as necessary.
The health and wellness centers offer several advantages to employees including convenient locations, same-day appointments, a consultative approach to primary care, longer appointment times, on-site pharmacies and 24/7 access to a physician via a sophisticated technology platform. Imaging and mental health care resources are potential areas of future expansion.
